It is the fourth book in the Oz series and follows the adventures of Dorothy Gale and her new friend, the Wizard of Oz, as they are transported to the Land of the Mangaboos, a strange and magical place where everything is made of glass. There they meet new characters such as the vegetable people, the wooden gargoyles, and the invisible bears. Along the way, they encounter numerous obstacles and challenges, including a treacherous underground river and the wicked Nome King, who seeks to capture them and steal their magic. With the help of their friends and their own quick thinking, Dorothy and the Wizard must find a way to escape and return to the safety of their own world. Full of adventure, humor, and fantastical creatures, ""Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz"" is a beloved classic that continues to captivate readers of all ages. When Dorothy recovered her senses they were still falling, but not so fast. The top of the buggy caught the air like a parachute or an umbrella filled with wind, and held them back so that they floated downward with a gentle motion that was not so very disagreeable to bear. The worst thing was their terror of reaching the bottom of this great crack in the earth, and the natural fear that sudden death was about to overtake them at any moment. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.

Autorenporträt
Lyman Frank Baum (1856 - 1919), better known by his pen name L. Frank Baum, was an American author chiefly known for his children's books, particularly The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. He wrote thirteen novel sequels, nine other fantasy novels and a host of other works (55 novels in total, plus four "lost works", 83 short stories, over 200 poems, an unknown number of scripts, and many miscellaneous writings). His works anticipated such century-later commonplaces as television, augmented reality, laptop computers (The Master Key), wireless telephones (Tik-Tok of Oz), women in high risk, action-heavy occupations (Mary Louise in the Country), and the ubiquity of advertising on clothing (Aunt Jane's Nieces at Work).
