Autorenporträt
Deb Smith is a New Jersey native, received her Bachelors in Biology and then her Masters of Science in Forensic Science. She relocated to Texas to work in the Dallas County Crime Lab. When her son, Maddox, was born with hypospadias, Deb traded the world of crime for a world of clinic visits and surgeries, after his first surgery healed with complications. This experience led her to pursue a career in nursing. Deb completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Baylor University and began her nursing career at Cook Children's as a nurse resident in February 2018. Since then, she worked as a staff nurse, preceptor, charge nurse, and quality nurse on a surgical/trauma inpatient unit. Deb recently transitioned to the role of Nurse Manager of clinical operations for the Cook Children's Physician Network. When not working, you can find Deb watching her son Maddox play baseball, taking her golden retriever, Thor, on hiking trails, or traveling with her family.
