Dr. Gina Midyett is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Psychotherapist and Sex Therapist specializing in individual, couples, and family therapy.Dr. Gina has over 20 years experience as a therapist and is a graduate of Pepperdine University in Southern California. She specializes in Mental Health Counseling for families, couples, and individuals. She currently runs a private practice called Life Focus Group in Tampa working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are child and adolescent issues, ADHD, eating disorders, self-esteem, trauma, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, relationship issues, personality disorders, sexual therapy, LGBT issues and substance abuse. She also runs a weekly Transgender support group.In addition, Dr. Gina has been a Professor of Psychology at several Universities in the Greater Tampa Bay Area and serves as President of the Suncoast Mental Health Counselors Association. She has also presented to general audiences speaking on the topics of mental health disorders. Dr. Gina is featured as a weekly professional consultant on Tampa Bay's News Channel 8 and several radio shows such as the Ron and Ian Show 620WDAE AM, and 102.5FM. She currently has her own weekly podcast on iTunes, and Spotify called " Mental Intimacy".Dr. Gina is a former Miss Cuba and a WBFF Fitness Pro and has graced the cover of many fitness magazines. Dr. Gina's extensive background in physical fitness and nutrition has led to her philosophy that a healthy body and a healthy mind simultaneously go together leading to a complete self. She believes that balance can only be achieved through proper nutrition and exercise. She integrates diet and exercise programs in her therapy as well as relaxation and meditation. Dr. Gina was featured in The Tampa Bay Times cover story "Getting Pumped about Life" which spoke about her healthy body and mind approach. Dr. Gina is also a published author.
