This book is mainly about the development of Skeletal Anchorage System (SAS). The SAS is a recently developed orthodontic anchorage modality utilizing titanium miniplates and monocortical screws that are temporarily fixed in the maxilla/mandible for absolute orthodontic anchorage and its biomechanics, its application in patients to various types of malocclusion in daily practice. This book is also about adopting a new treatment modality for surgical patients: surgery first, followed by orthodontic alignment. This approach was made possible three dimensional movement of the entire dentition in non-growing patients. This total endeavor of compiling this work will enhance the academic excellence and clinical perfection amongst the orthodontist.
