Autorenporträt
Fred J. Hoyle was born in l947 in Lawndale NC a little town nestled in the foothills of the South Mountains. With few neighbors close by, he explored the woods and creeks surrounding his families' farm. His imagination helped him find adventure as he played in the woods where he fell in love with the beauty of nature. At age eleven his family moved to Shelby where he attended Shelby High School. Fred developed a love for track and field sports. He set a new Western North Carolina Athletic Activity Association record throwing Discus his senior year. In 1970 he met the love of his life and they are still in love and married forty seven years later. He studied business administration at Gardner Webb College and later assumed the role of president in his families' business for twenty-five years. The business prospered and grew, branching into several endeavors. Now in retirement he has found that with pen in hand he can once again use his imagination to venture into natures beautiful woods, where endless dangers and triumphs await.
