This book focuses on effect of drip irrigation and black plastic mulch on "Growth and Yield of Broccoli". Morphologically this cruciferae crop is similar to cauliflower. But the climatic conditions are less exacting than cauliflower. For quality crop, under Indian condition an average day temperature of 20-25°C at vegetative stage and 15-20°C at heading are optimum for growing Broccoli. On the other hand water is another critical factor affecting the growth and yield of this crop. In this backdrop, use of drip irrigation was found to be very effective with application of precise quantity of water directly to the root zone of the crop at right time. Use of black plastic mulch is the another technology to conserve water, improve soil health, control temperature and weed growth. Hence, from this book one can easily guide to use both these technologies at different combinations to make out their effect on growth and yield attributing characters of this crop as well as well on efficient utilization of water to get the desired yield.
