Water is an increasingly limited resource. Farmers face water scarcity and water-related hazards as they experience unpredictable rainfall patterns and longer dry seasons. The lack of effective irrigation system is a major impediment to agricultural productivity. Drip irrigation offers a feasible option for economic production in areas of low rainfall or periods of water scarcity. A comparative study of drip and furrow irrigation methods for forage production in Gandak River Basin of Nepal was done. Our efforts in the present research program tested new tools and systems to increase water security and efficiency that could be readily adapted by smallholder farmers. Results from study are presented in this book which will shed some light on economic production through efficient irrigation. This book enhances learning among researcher, scientists, students and farmers.
