The study was able to obtain information on the incidence and pattern of ADRs in the local population. The present evaluation has revealed opportunities for interventions especially for the preventable ADRs which will help in promoting safer drug use. The pattern of ADRs reported in our hospital is comparable with the results from studies conducted in an Indian hospital set up. Results of many of the evaluated parameters such as Patient characteristics, Drug class wise distribution of ADRs, Organ system most affected due to ADRs, Severity of the ADRs, Naranjo's Probability scale wise distribution of ADRs, Treatment of suspected ADRs were similar to other studies. While some aspects such as the incidence of ADR in hospitalized patients and ADR during hospital stay were different from other studies.
