Idea of the publishing a book on the Dry Eye Syndrome with reference to Shushkakshipaka described in Ayurvedic Texts was conceived after handling a large number of Dry Eye patients during my PG and even during my academic -clinical life. Dry Eye occurs in a particularly Old age but I observed a quite number of young age patients due to modern life styles and changed dietary habits particularly spicy junk foods. Due to limitation of treatment, patient suffers in routine life. The book is presented to give information of aetio-pathogenesis, symptomatology, management and prevention of Dry Eye through modern and Ayurveda aspect. As Ayurveda is science of wholistic management of diseased patient, may Kriyakalpa procedures and internal medication can be used in Dry Eye Syndrome. Here this book tried to highlight, most effective and frequently used Kriyakalpa procedures and medication for the same. I hope this book will be helpful for non medicos and medicos to understand this disease by Ayurveda perspective.
