Helen Reardon has a long career as a journalist. She started as a newspaper journalist, but later developed her editing and layout skills by working as fill in for editors of weekly newspapers throughout New Zealand. Following a stint contributing to local rural magazines, she began producing and editing a seniors magazine called Zenith magazine. While doing this she began converting her family historical knowledge into three novels that chronicle the life styles of the Mcdonald family in Scotland.
