High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Dusky Parrot or Dusky Pionus is a medium sized mainly dark brownish-gray parrot of the Pionus genus in the true parrot family. It is found in the Guianas, and regions of the eastern Amazon Basin in Brazil, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela; also a northern border region of Colombia. Its natural habitat is humid lowland forest. They are not known for talking like other parrots; instead they can say from 10-20 words. The Dusky Parrot is approximately 24 cm long. It has a medium-wide grey eye ring, a splay of cream-white feathers on its upper neck, a pinkish-red tinge to the belly, and red undertail coverts.
