Yusimy Mesa Rodríguez, licenciée en sciences infirmières, a obtenu son diplôme en 1996. Depuis lors, elle a commencé à travailler dans le domaine des soins de santé primaires dans les zones rurales des montagnes. Elle se consacre actuellement à l'enseignement des soins de santé primaires et de la santé publique. Professeur adjoint à l'université des sciences médicales de Villa Clara.
