Driven by the increasingly expanding needs of infrastructure construction, operation and maintenance, as well as the rapid developments of intelligent sensing and information technology, precise engineering surveying has been transformed from static, discrete, and manual into dynamic, continuous, and intelligent ways. This transformation leads to an advanced multidisciplinary field, dynamic and precise engineering surveying, on which the author has worked for over two decades. This book systematically summarizes the fundamentals, methods, and applications in dynamic and precise engineering surveying. The contents mainly include two parts: the first part introduces principles and methods of dynamic and precise engineering surveying; the second part presents representative applications in which innovative methods and advanced equipment are applied in the construction, operation and maintenance of mega and complex infrastructures.
Readers engaged in surveying and mapping, civil engineering, water conservancy engineering, railway engineering, electronic information, and computer science, including undergraduates, graduates, researchers and engineers, will find it an informative reference.

Autorenporträt
Prof. Qingquan Li is an academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences, a foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering, the vice president of the Chinese Society for Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography (CSGPC), as well as the vice president and regional editor (Asia-Pacific) of International Society for Urban Informatics. He received his Ph.D. in photogrammetry and remote sensing from the Wuhan Technical University of Surveying and Mapping. For over twenty years, Professor Li has been dedicated to researching multidisciplinary theories, intelligence techniques, and high-end equipment to achieve dynamic and precise engineering surveying. To this end, he has developed a series of theory, methods, and equipment to meet the various and strict needs in dynamic and precise engineering surveying. The resultant devices and equipment have been applied in the construction, operation and maintenance of highways, railways, bridges, tunnels, water conservancy projects, and smart cities across 32 provinces and cities in China, reversing the import of high-end measurement equipment to export and bringing economic benefits of billions of dollars. As credits to his innovative work, he received a Second Prize in the National Technology Invention Award, a Second Prize in the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the National Science and Technology Progress Innovation Team Award, as well as nine first prizes in Science and Technology Progress at the provincial and ministerial levels. Professor Li ranks among the world's top 2% scientists for career-long citation impact listed by Stanford University.
