The shock pulses that load up basic links of the machines are investigated. Theoretical expressions to calculate the shock pulses are obtained. These expressions allow calculating the impact velocity and the shock thickness of the workpiece. These values should be avoided in operating mode. Otherwise, shock processes may occur. The spatial deformations and transverse vibrations in the transmissions of big circular saw machines and big band saw machines have been examined. Dependencies for determining the static and dynamic deformations of the main shaft in two mutually perpendicular planes are obtained. Deformation checks in the transmissions of the machines are made. Normal operation of the woodworking machines is ensured if the real deformations are smaller or equal to the limit values established in the technical literature.
