Sundarbans of India, the part of largest single block mangrove delta,is no doubt passing through endangered fluvio-geomorphological conditions now a days with regard to its poor drainage conditions. The dynamic character of the tidal rivers of this delta has been typically responding which is becoming too intangible to the planners. It is very much unfortunate to all of us when we exploit the deltas like Sundarbans to meet our daily needs in response to the population growth years after years without any return. So, this is the time to stop a while and think over the effects of past human activities on nature and to make plan for the establishment of an ecologically balanced nature. Is it possible to give Sundarbans a little chance to develop by its own natural way? The authors hope that this book will surely earn its most desired value which would be tribute to the villagers of Indian Sundarbans. This book will surely invite and encourage the young geographers or researchers from various disciplines of different national and international universities to understand the need of micro-level hydro-geomorphic study on the physically endangered parts of the green deltas of the world.
