At the end of the study we conducted on the theme of "rubber plantation dynamism and food insecurity: the case of Nouvel Ousrou in the department of Dabou", we have now reached the assessment stage. For a long time dominated by cassava and oil palm crops, Nouvel Ousrou is now characterized by the emergence of rubber cultivation to the point where this cash crop occupies first place among export crops (SAPH, 2006). This has led us to question the interest in rubber production to the detriment of cassava production. Through this study, we sought to analyze the socio-economic determinants of cultural change that underlie the development of rubber tree cultivation to the detriment of other crops, particularly cassava, which are considered to be equally useful in the food supply and the social representations of the people of Nouvel Ousrou.
