Dynamite and toothpicks sounds like it might be a title from an old silent movie, but it is really just a poem about the old days of lumbering here in the grand old Pine Tree State of Maine. Once upon a time things like dynamite were common tools, and there were many times a logger would have to use a stick or two to blow a log jam before it caused too much damage. With that picture in mind, I wrote a poem called Dynamite and Toothpicks depicting such a scene and placed it upon the renowned Penobscot River system.
