This book is a qualitative case study for a country, an e-Democracy strategy for Bahrain is synthesised and presented in this book. The process of democratization and how it is taking place in Bahrain and Gulf countries are also discussed. A strategy formulation framework is adopted after reviewing literature on how to formulate a strategy. E-Government strategies of leading players in e-Government are reviewed with an objective of learning lessons prior to formulating e-Democracy strategy. The book fills a gap in the literature, namely the lack of e-democracy studies pertaining to the Middle East. It also provides a framework and lessons for other countries in the region for the creation of an e-democracy strategy.
Autorenporträt
Dr. Mohammed AlAmer led many ICT initiatives while presiding the Central Informatics Organisation (2006¿2016). He chairs the Telecom Regulatory Authority, with a prime role to promote fair competition among telecom operators. He earned HM the King of Bahrain¿s 1st Class Competency Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions.
