A quick-reading biography exploring the history and mystery of the life of Eagle of Delight (Hayne Hudjihini), a teenage Otoe Indian woman from Nebraska whose portrait hangs in the White House. In 1821 she journeyed east with her husband and fifteen other Plains Indian chiefs to visit the president. There, she became one of the first Native American women ambassadors and the 'Darling of Washington D.C. Society.' Her 1822 portrait and four others have been on display in the White House library since 1962.
