The early child period is considered to be the most important developmental phase throughout the lifespan. Early childhood Care and Development (ECCD) includes the physical, social, emotional, and language/ cognitive domains of development. 200 million children under five in the developing world are not fulfilling their potential for development. Because of poverty, under nutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, and learning environments that do not provide enough responsive stimulation and nurturance, children are developing more slowly, or failing to develop critical thinking and learning skills. This limitation in early development contributes to late school entry, poor school performance, and ultimately, limitations for success later in life. We have seen increased interest in ECCD around the world, amongst international organizations and within national contexts and governments as well. The purpose of the study was to measure the current situation of ECCD age children in the area. Household survey questionnaire, FGD guides, were the tools used in this study.
