"Early Childhood Caries (ECC) Is Public Health Problem with Biological, Social and Behavioral Determinants." ECC is worldwide and a highly prevalent disease and should be considered a relevant burden for the children and their families. Although extensive measures and research have been invested into the prevention of ECC, better ways of implementing preventive methods and programs are needed. Dental professionals play a major role in preventing oral diseases, although they cannot stand alone in the front-lines to assure optimal oral health care for the population. Non-dental professionals, including family physicians and other primary care providers, also play a pivotal role in helping "Fill The Gap". Preventive measures cannot and will not work unless the parents and caretakers follow and adhere to the prevention methods being taught to them. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"
