This book addresses the relationship between the Early Childhood Development Education Policy and Practices in Early Childhood Development Centres in Bungoma South District. It is based on a study whose main purpose was to ascertain the enforcement of the policy. The author argues that ECDE teachers are not adequately trained to handle ECDE classes effectively. She also observes that the teachers are poorly remunerated hence the lack of motivation towards performance of their duties to the expected standards. Therefore, Violet recommends that the Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teachers be supported and facilitated by the government through adequate supervision, in-service training courses and reasonable remuneration. This book is recommended to Education Officers, teachers, parents and policy makers.
