Readers' Favorite Award-Winning Earthedge Earthedge is set in England in the 1960s, but an England in which Edward 8th never abdicated, electricity has not replaced steam, the Realm has waged three recent wars with the USA, and all scholarship must be approved by the all-powerful Royal and Ancient Academy of Knowledge. The Chancellor of the Academy, Lord Edmund of Muckyheath, harbours a dark secret, however, a secret which all his predecessors have concealed for five hundred years. It's a secret which if revealed will utterly destroy the Academy's credibility, and a secret which an upstart school teacher is determined to now tell the world. If the Chancellor doesn't kill him first, that is. What follows is a rollicking tale of exploration, young love, and war, involving stone boats, gum Arabic shooters, airships, and automata."An epic fantasy tale of war and adventure that is humorous, at times heartbreaking ... [with] robust characters, deft plotting, and beautiful prose.... Earthedge sets the bar when it comes to a blend of alternate history and fantasy." -Readers Favorite"A satirical alternate-history novel ... this sprawling adventure ... never lacks for creativity ... A fantastical tale that's often as funny as it is wild." -Kirkus ReviewsPraise for Ivan BlakeWinner of Eric Hoffer and Readers' Favorite AwardsDead Scared"In this gloriously macabre novel-the first installment of a series-Blake channels Stephen King and 1980s cult films like Re-Animator...Fans should claw at Blake's windows for more graveyard tales after this delightful series opener." -Kirkus Reviews"An intense and brooding tale that delivers...plot had me instantly hooked...writing is often lyrically lovely, but this never gets in the way of the action and horror that this book is steeped in...eagerly anticipating the next book in Blake's The Mortsafeman Trilogy..." -Readers' Favorite

Autorenporträt
Ivan Blake was born in Britain, next door to his grandfather's pub and three miles from Stonehenge. His family immigrated to Canada when he was a youngster and then moved frequently between various Canadian Naval bases for more than a decade. Ivan did his undergraduate studies at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia and his graduate studies in History at the University of Chicago. He taught in universities for fifteen years before joining the Federal Public Service as a senior executive. Ivan served the Government of Canada for nearly twenty years, and then, on his retirement, he consulted and spoke on governance and accountability around the world. Now Ivan enjoys his family, paints, travels, and writes solely for pleasure. Over the years Ivan has written for radio, television and the stage but today he focuses on writing fiction. Ivan's books have received Eric Hoffer and Readers' Favorite awards raves from Kirkus Reviews, and five-stars exclusively from Midwest Book Review and Readers' Favorite. Since childhood Ivan has enjoyed reading and writing works of horror and the fantastical-probably because of the Druids' blood that flows in his veins.
