Janet Doolaege Two birds have been very much part of my life in France: Ebony the blackbird and Spica the starling. Each would have died if I hadn't cared for him, but I little dreamt what a close relationship would develop between me and these creatures of another species. In this book I describe their progress from helpless fledglings to confident adults, their antics, quirks and highly distinctive characters, and how I had to adapt my working life to their needs and demands.
