Ebony Embellished is a series of short stories. Summary of the lead story is as follows: Dr. Lamont Patel is a dedicated historian of African American history. After a devastating terror attack on their museums funding to rebuild is being withheld. Supervision of future historical content will be reviewed by the History Simplification Committee that is controlled by foreign financial entity. Dr. Nelson Pong, its CEO, is determined to stifle Patel's efforts for financial independence and self-reliance. Further research and speculation into historical events led to the embellishment of Black history; other peoples of color historians were intimidated by Pong's influence, which caused challenges for Patel. Maxwell Lowe and Dennis Sloan are prison inmates of the future. Each is incarcerated in separate hellholes, but each one has a solution to their problems. Milo Bipp has had a rough few days. Not only is his probationary surveillance implant (The Eye) violating his privacy, but his probation officer is working with the person who is responsible for his imprisonment. Envy and jealousy play a prominent role in this story of greed and deception. They said, "Old soldiers never die; they just fade away," but Soldier 333 is not your average soldier, even at his age. He is an exception to most military cliches. These and other situations that seasoned characters face in the not-so-distant future are intriguing and challenging.
