This book emphasis on the prevention and reducing the severity of Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness(DOMS). Long distance runners suffer with delayed onset muscle soreness mainly of the lower limbs especially the larger muscle group of Quadriceps Femoris.Many interventions have been tried and reported. Eccentric training of quadriceps femoris muscle can be incorporated into warm up program for the long distance runners to reduce delayed onset muscle soreness.The atheletes efficiency will not be hampered if the problem of DOMS is prevented.
