This book is designed as a workbook for interpreting 12 lead Electrocardiograms (ECG) for beginners. It has been written with the objective of meeting the needs of primary care physicians, medical students, postgraduates, nurses and paramedical staff in primary care settings. While working in a primary healthcare institution, we saw patients with different ECG abnormalities. Furthermore, we noticed some common errors of ECG lead positioning. These errors were made by doctors and nurses alike. An inability to make a full interpretation of an ECG may lead to common mistakes and misdiagnosis in primary healthcare settings. In addition, these errors can cause unnecessary referrals to secondary or tertiary healthcare institutions. The ECG pictures in this book are originals compiled by the Authors, and do apologize for their quality. In this workbook we have 5 S's in mind: - Simplicity in explanations - Stepwise and systematic approach - Short time to master basics of ECG - Safe diagnosis - Serious conditions should not be missed
