H. Paul Santmire has been a leader in the field of ecological theology for more than fifty years. His first book, Brother Earth (1970), is widely regarded as a pioneering classic. Ordained in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, he is also the author of The Travail of Nature (1985), Nature Reborn (2000), Ritualizing Nature (2008), Before Nature (2014), and Behold the Lilies (Cascade, 2017).
