Lawrence Lepcha was born in Kalimpong, Darjeeling (India). Did his Masters in Agricultural Economics from SHIATS, Allahabad. Presently he is pursuing his Ph.D. from U.B.K.V., Coochbehar. He has also been awarded the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF).
