Turkey production as an approach to economic growth could be relevant in improving the quality of life of farmers. Information on the economics of turkey production is necessary in view of the emerging food crisis in Nigeria. Moreover, efforts at improving agricultural production have always been concentrated on increasing production, the breeding of high yielding varieties of crops and animals with little emphasis on efficiency of production output and conservation of what is produced. Therefore, to increase turkey productivity, sound macro and micro-economic farm policies are needed. These require knowledge of aggregate farm level resources, availability and differences in the productivity of these resources.

Musa Dantani Baba joined the Department of Agricultural Extension and Management, Kebbi State College of Agriculture, Zuru, in 2006. He obtained a Master of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics in 2014.
