Using real data from the Brazilian municipality of Guaratinguetá - SP, the book provides examples of the improvements needed in solid waste management, following the guidelines of Federal Law No. 11.455/07 and Federal Law No. 12.305/10, which establish Brazilian sanitation regulations and the national policy on urban solid waste.

Il est professeur à l'université de São Paulo. Il est titulaire d'un master en assainissement dans le domaine de la gestion des déchets solides de l'UNESP-Bauru (2014), d'un diplôme en physique de l'UNESP-Guaratinguetá (2014) et d'un diplôme en ingénierie de production de l'UNESP-Guaratinguetá (2009). Il a travaillé comme conseiller technique pour l'entreprise de services d'eau, d'égouts et de déchets solides de Guaratinguetá.
