Brijesh C. Purohit is Professor at Madras School of Economics (MSE), Chennai, India. Prior to joining the MSE in 2008, he served at various academic Institutes in India which include Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad; Institute of Development Studies, Jaipur; Indian Institute of Health Management and Research, Jaipur; National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, New Delhi; and Central University of Rajasthan. His career, spanning over more than 30 years, includes research, teaching, training, and consultancy. He was also South Asian Vising Scholar at Queen Elizabeth college, Department of Development Studies, University of Oxford, UK. He holds a PhD in economics from the Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore, India.
