Studies of Adiantum lunulatum Burm. were carried out with respect to species environment, population characteristics, substrate analysis and its phytochemical analysis. The significant findings of the present investigation can be revealed into following points. Microclimatic conditions played a major role in determining pteridophyte community composition from the study region especially of A. lunulatum.Microclimatic information was, therefore, vital for empirical field studies, management and conservation planning of pteridophytes. It can be used to explain the behaviour, distribution, and development of organisms in natural systems.Population studies of A. lunulatum may create an understanding of selective forces and adaptive features of species in natural habitats. Basic information on the abundance and distribution of species combined with environmental information will be useful in regional conservation planning. Studies on ecophysiology of the species will make the basis forthe investigations on conservation strategies for pteridophytes as well as for other species from the region. This will also create a base for medicinal uses of this species.
