The success of rehabilitation is usually assessed through visual inspection of vegetation establishment. However, such methods ignore the ecosystem functionality of the rehabilitated landscapes. This work describes how the Landscape Function Analysis (LFA) method can be applied to evaluate rehabilitation progress and measure success as exemplified through a systematic assessment of Mhangura Copper Mine tailings in Zimbabwe. Graduated with BSc(Hons) Biological Sciences (2009) and MSc (Tropical Resource Ecology) 2011 - University of Zimbabwe. Interested in ecosystem function, restoration and resource management at human/wildlife interfaces.
