Art Myers was born in 1935 and grew up in the small Southern California town of La Mesa. He graduated from San Diego State College in 1958 with a B.S. 8Degree in Engineering. Several employments in the Military Industrial Complex lasted until the end of 1969. His first lay-off was in 1961 and he spent the Fall months working as construction labor in Mammoth Lakes, California and spent the winter of 1962 skiing in Aspen, Colorado. Another stint in engineering and a second lay-off occurred which found him with a wife, daughter, house payments and just beginning what became a 30 year career as a professional sculptor. Interspersed in that 30 years were a variety of residences and occupations for both he and his wife. Retiring in 2002 they bought a sailboat and spent 10 years living aboard and cruising both U.S. Coasts. They have lived in a variety of places including Saratoga, CA, Aspen and Loveland, CO, Lake Forest, IL and currently Vero Beach, FL. His first book was an autobiography written for family and friends. His fourth work of fiction is"Ed Adams Chases A Dream," 2020.
