Edgar Patrício de Carvalho Pacheco (born 7 August 1977 in Luanda), simply Edgar, is a retired Angolan-Portuguese footballer who played as a forward. After making his professional debuts with Benfica at the age of 18, he appeared irregularly for the club, and spent most of his later career in Spain where, after a lightning spell with Real Madrid, he spent several seasons representing Málaga CF. Edgar started playing professionally as a 16-year old, at Vitória de Setúbal. In 1995, he was snapped by Portuguese giants S.L. Benfica, being regularly used, mainly from the bench. He also served a six-month loan at F.C. Alverca, then its feeder club, in the second division.
