Autorenporträt
Prof. Xudong Zhu is an expert on comparative and teacher education as well as foreign education history. He is the dean of the Faculty of Education, Beijing Normal University, the general secretary of Teacher Education Committee of Experts at the Ministry of Education, the director of the Center for Teacher Education Research, one of the Key Research Institutes of Humanities and Social Sciences at Universities, Ministry of Education. and a senior visiting scholar in the Fulbright Program at the University of Maryland. He has published more than eighty papers, ten books, and edited four series. Prof. Jiayong Li is the vice dean for the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences Research and the immediate past vice dean of the Faculty of Education at Beijing Normal University. He has been involved in teaching, research and administration at the University for more than twenty years. Prof. Li's research interest is international and comparative education, with special focus on teacher education, curriculum studies, and private education. He is also editor of the Journal of Educational Studies published in Beijing. Prof. Li has published more than ten books, and over twenty articles and consultation papers. Prof. Mang Li is the vice dean for Faculty of Education and vice director of the Centre for Faculty Development at Beijing Normal University, the director of Institute of Teaching Behaviour and a member of the Teaching Committee at the Ministry of Education of China.  He presides over the Higher Education Quality Course and the National Online Sharing Course. He has won the Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Sciences Research Outstanding Achievement Award.   Late Prof. Qiang Liu was an associate professor of International and Comparative Education at Beijing Normal University, and a key member of the APEC Higher Education Research Center, approved by the Ministry of Education of China, and of the APEC Secretariat.  His research interests focused on internationalization of higher education, cross-border education, and educational finance. He has published two monographs and more than 20 peer-reviewed articles and undertaken a number of key research projects in the areas of comparative education.   Prof. Hugh Starkey is Professor of Citizenship and Human Rights Education at UCL Institute of Education, London. His research focuses on education for democratic citizenship, human rights and social justice in a globalized world.  He is founding co-director of the International Centre for Education for Democratic Citizenship and editor of the London Review of Education. He has acted as a consultant for several governments and the Council of Europe, UNESCO, the European Commission and the British Council.
