Nixon Rolando Páez Pinto est diplômé en littérature de l'université de San Carlos de Guatemala.Il a été professeur de langue et de littérature.Il travaille actuellement au ministère guatémaltèque de l'éducation.Il est l'auteur de l'essai Educación o Ruina, Acercamiento a la realidad educativa de Guatemala, publié par Editorial Académica Española.
