The role of education in the process of overall human development is indispensable. Therefore, universal primary education presumes that all children irrespective of caste, class, and region would complete primary education with equality and quality within the stipulated time frame. However, several disparities embedded in the social and educational system deprives children to fully participate in the process. Against this backdrop, the present book explores educational development and disparities in India in terms of spatial, gender, social and regional at the block level.
