The planning of educational facility requires much more scientic approach than it is perceived as a mere art. The designing of educational facilities requires specialisation as it involves more complex architectural and engineering work not only in providing spaces for different types of training but also in the installation of equipment and services in these spaces. Such complicated work requires close collaboration with educators specializing in each of the fields for which facilities are to be designed. This book is therefore a handy manual for practioners as it encapsulated the necessary information regarding effective facility planning. The book covers all aspects of the planning process such as the team of planners, the specifications, space determination, economy and comfort, safety, equipment and furniture among others. It is hoped therefore, that by utilising this book effectively, educational facilities planning will be done with maintenance in focus. This book also avails the necessary procedural steps to an achievable as well as sustainable maintenance practice. Worked example of a multipurpose workshop planning process in TVET training is also explicitly discussed.
