This book highlights issues dealing with impact of corporal punishment on students. In the year 2009, school dropout rate in Bondo district increased by 8%. Student teacher confrontation was reported in 40% and 12% of the schools respectively thereby necessitating many disciplinary committee meetings in those schools. In more than 50% of the PTA meetings, parents and the school management committees wanted re-introduction of corporal punishment to curb indiscipline. Information obtained from the District Education Office in Bondo indicate rise in indiscipline in the schools in the district. Therefore this book establishes impact of ban on corporal punishment on student discipline in secondary schools. Specific purpose of this book are: to determine the impact of ban on corporal punishment on student discipline, to establish the role of parents in managing student discipline, to determine teachers' opinion towards ban on corporal punishment and to establish the role of school rules in managing student discipline.
