Education shows the status of society. Woman in India is a weaker part of the society.They need to be cared upon more for their development.For this, true picture of their literacy level in India is required. Author,in her project,has studied the corresponding data and prepared this report. Comparative analysis has been made between the data of two survey reports having interval-difference of almost ten years. These survey reports have been performed by national sample survey organization, ministry of statistics & program implementation, Govt. of India. All India survey 52nd round report July 1995-Jun 1996 and all India survey 64th round report July 2007-Jun 2008 . Literacy rate of female in India, enrolment status of female, factors effecting female education, female drop-out rates are the main points of the authors concentration in the project. Varied analytical modes are adopted for the comprehension.Analysis is made gender-wise, region-wise,location-wise,age-wise,participation-category-wise and education level wise. Only the females having age 5-29 are targeted upon for the analysis. Conclusions drawn on the bases of analysis are making this project perfectly a useful asset.
