Learning survival techniques in nature is an activity that is currently enjoying great popularity due to its media impact. Our urbanized and industrialized population resorts to activities in nature to alleviate the physical and psychological consequences of our evolutionary discordance. That is why, from education, formal, non-formal and informal, survival is used as an educational resource in childhood and youth. However, few educators and experts approach this subject from a technically rigorous and pedagogically appropriate point of view.In this document a systematic review is carried out to analyze the scientific texts that deal with the use of survival techniques during the education of children and young people.As a final contribution, some technical and methodological guidelines are specified in order to support educators in the inclusion of survival techniques in their educational contents.
