The present investigation was carried out at the Horticulture Garden, Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur, during the year 1992 -93 to ascertain the effect of pre-planting treatment of different size of bulbs with GA on growth, flowering and bulb production of tuberose. A factorial experiment with three size of bulb, viz: D (below 1.00 cm diameter), D2 (1-1.5 cm diameter), D (above 1.5 cm diameter) and six concentrations of GA 0, 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 ppm replicated thrice in randomized block design was laid out. The experimentations revealed that larger size of bulbs were effective (above 1.5 cm diameter) with respect to the vegetative growth, flowering and bulb production character of tuberose. GA3 was also most effective at 200 ppm concentration. The combined influence was also found with regards to plant height, length of inflorescence, length of spike, earliness of flowering and bulb production. On the basis of above facts it can be concluded that for improving vegetative growth and production of maximum spikes larger bulbs are to be dipped in GA3 at 200 ppm concentration before planting.
