The control of fungal diseases responsible for storage rot of apples by four calcium salts; (Ca (OH)2), (CaCl2), (Ca(NO3)2) and (CaCO3), shows in vitro that calcium nitrate and calcium carbonate have little effect on the three life stages of the fungi, but calcium chloride and calcium hydroxide are effective on mycelial growth, conidial germination and sporulation of all fungi tested.
