In this book the author investigated the effect of teaching through concept mapping strategy on the achievement in Chemistry in relation to achievement motivation and study habits. This experimental randomized groups, pretest -posttest designed study consisted of 302, IX class students from Government schools of Ludhiana district of Punjab, India. Experimental group was exposed to concept mapping method and the controlled group was exposed to conventional method (lecture and discussion) for twenty five days. The results of the study showed achievement in Chemistry of the group taught by concept mapping was significantly more as compared to group taught by conventional method for every category of students. The implied research opened the new avenues for all the stakeholders to transform educational practices and turning themselves into facilitators in the teaching learning process by adopting student centered strategies.
