Hypertension is more prevalent among adults due to various reasons and it is ranked as the leading single risk factor for global burden of disease. Diverse health and life style transition increases the hypertension rapidly in most Low and Middle Income Countries. Dietary modification with functional foods is the main stay interventions to prevent or delay the onset of hypertension and are essential concomitant therapy for those who require pharmacological drug treatment for hypertension. In this research, hypertensive adults were identified through community health camps and the prehypertensives were supplemented with functional foods for 180 days and its impact on their blood pressure and other associated risk factors were studied.
