As India is a developing nation with increasing economy and infrastructure, therefore development of highrise building frame is at its peak thus stability of structure against seismic forces are must. As infill walls are the most economical type of lateral load resisting members. Its utilization and its effectiveness must be observed against lateral load. Due to introduction of infilled walls there is significant increase in the stiffness and strength, decrease in the natural period of vibration, increase in the base shear, and increase in the shear forces and bending moment in the ground storey columns. In case of structure without infilled walls, this masonry structure acts as an extra mass and does not show any significant effects. In a braced frame building, the resistance to horizontal forces is provided by vertical and horizontal bracing. Main aim of this thesis is to Study on the effect of infill material on the behaviour of structure. In this study it is concluded that infill walls are lateral load resisting members and variation in forces, moment and deflection arises due to openings in infill walls. For analysis and designing analysis tool Staad.pro is considered.
