About 10% of the population avoids vaccination and other needle procedures because of needle fears (Taddio, et al., 2009). Administration of 50% oral sucrose solution was effective in reducing infantile sensation of pain during immunization injection in infants under 6 months as evidence by their facial expression, position of legs, activity of the infant, presence of crying and consolability.
