An experiment was carried out at Pachutia Research Station in BLRI to evaluate the effects of different organic manure types on the production performance and nutritive value of five Napier cultivars (Napier Hybrid, Napier Vietnam, MerkEron, Wruk-wona And Bajra). The experiment was established 27 May, 2014 on a 100m x 100m land area in a 5x5 factorial experiment in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of five different manure types (Bioslurry, Layer dropping, Broiler dropping, Goat dropping and Control fertilizer) and five Napier Varieties having a total of 25 treatments combination…mehr

An experiment was carried out at Pachutia Research Station in BLRI to evaluate the effects of different organic manure types on the production performance and nutritive value of five Napier cultivars (Napier Hybrid, Napier Vietnam, MerkEron, Wruk-wona And Bajra). The experiment was established 27 May, 2014 on a 100m x 100m land area in a 5x5 factorial experiment in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of five different manure types (Bioslurry, Layer dropping, Broiler dropping, Goat dropping and Control fertilizer) and five Napier Varieties having a total of 25 treatments combination with 4 replications. The result showed significant difference (p<0.05) in manure types in case of biomass yield, plant height, number of hill, stem wt., sheath wt., leaf wt., DM and CP. Grasses planted on plot treated with layer manure had the highest significant values (p<0.05) for biomass yield (258.67 MT/ha). From the results it can be concluded that irrespective of variety and manure application if Napier hybrid is cultivated with layer manure it shows the best performances in terms of biomass yield and Napier Vietnam cultivated with broiler droppings in terms of CP content.
